If you’ve never taken your dog to a professional groomer, “full groom” can sound vague. Here’s exactly what happens during a complete grooming session at Chula Pawz.
Step by step
1. Pre-groom check: We look over your dog’s coat, skin, ears, and nails, and talk through the look you want.
2. Brush-out: Tangles and loose undercoat come out before the bath — water tightens mats, so this order matters.
3. Bath and conditioning: A gentle, dog-safe shampoo suited to your pup’s skin, followed by conditioner to keep the coat soft and healthy in our dry Utah climate.
4. Drying: Careful, low-stress drying — paced around your dog’s comfort.
5. Haircut and styling: A breed-standard cut or whatever style you prefer, from teddy-bear trims to summer cuts.
6. The details: Nail trim, ear cleaning, and a sanitary trim finish things off. A bandana or bow is optional — but highly recommended for the photos.
Why one-on-one grooming matters
Because we groom from our home studio, your dog gets individual attention from start to finish — no crowded kennels, no chaos, no waiting in a cage for hours. Many dogs who hate busy salons settle right in.
